Thanks Yunner! It was totally voluntary, as were the efforts of Blake and crew from By Request, Kimberly Anne designs (floral) and several other volunteers. Without their work, there's just no way we could come away at the end of the day with money to donate. Thanks to EVERYONE for their contributions!!!

This is the "pre-show"... the folks from Palettes helping our brides put their best face forward! Thanks folks! They offered their services free of charge which was just amazing. Their crew was great! Also, Laura from Glow Makeup did my face for me, and was fab! The folks from Palettes worked tirelessly for 7 hours to make our models look their best, and yes, free of charge. This organization is highly professional. It was kinda funny... our 'makeup' rom was a Montessori classroom. WELL.... gotta say, they knew what they needed in terms of space/etc. and it was quickly transformed into what you see now. They were super... and frankly, did a great job. Every model felt lovely... THANK YOU PALETTES! |

| The TBP spread... with lots of dresses and accessories, staffed by wonderful volunteers! Missing from this room are Pearl Seto (gown alterations) and Val Ahearn (gown cleaning). AND MARIA! Where are you Maria? I have no pics of you. Hmmmm... hiding beneath gowns? Maria was highly instrumental in the show, and completely orchestrated the fashion show. Thanks Maria for all your time and hard work, and for recruiting these beautiful women to help us. | |

| Two of our corporate sponsors (thank you so much for your support!) Moore's tuxedo rentals and Canadian Tire's Celebration Station gift registry. Choices for Two was our other sponsor, and Mark from there was instrumental in getting the show off the road. A huge thanks to Mark for all his work! On the Moore's end... Dave Farbello at Moore's Tuxedo Rentals offered wonderful support. But Dave, I think they all need some tickling though or something ;) Mandy Mail at the Canadian Tire Celebration Station Gift Registry has been fantastic as well. That's not Mandy above.... but I really enjoyed having CT there. I think the cordless drill alarmed some people as my bouquet alternative, but darn, that toolbelt made the outfit. Sorry 'bout stealing your pants belt from CT... ummmm.. I did say I'd be back in a bit... a bit of an hour? Poor guy was holding his pants up with... never mind. Frankly, these folks have a lot more to offer than auto parts and tires. CT sells TONS of stuff, including all the household items you could want. Would you want your guests to pay $50 for the toaster/indoor grill/iron/anything/everything that is EXACTLY the same at CT for $35 from a higher priced shop? Or have them with funds left over for the perfect light fixture for your dining room or.... a gift cert. so you can be a green thumb like me and have a pretty garden. Hmmmm. Tough one, huh? If you need help with the decision, I'll loan you my tool belt ;) (no commisson req'd) | |

| Thom Hamilton Photography on the left and Kimberly Anne! Designs on the right.
All righty. You HAVE to check out Thom's website. He has such a broad repetoire, and when I went online, I was kinda, duh... wow?! He does great work (Ummmmm, understatement). Please do take the time because he doesn't just do the wedding stuff.... his portfolio is highly demonstrative of his flexibility as a photographer, and if you want non-trad stuff... or traditional... he can cover your bases. I was joking with him about the whole prize thing. And y'know what... he got it. Before the wedding etc., wouldn't YOU love to have a 'model' shoot... hey, take it as you want... my thought was throughout the stress, wouldn't it be nice to have a photo of yourself that YOU love. One that you want to see on your fiance's desk and people walk by and say "HOLY SHIT, who's that?" Heh. Thom will leave it up to you. So, on the right, my dear, dear friend and colleague Kimberly Anne in absentia from the booth. I find with certain services, people are really really picky. Floral is in that category. Kim is so patient, so kind, and does amazing work. I had her design the gifts for my volunteers, etc, and they were STUNNING. Kim will sit down, listen to your needs and work within your budget. She can't create miracles, so be reasonable. But the one thing I know is that my dear Kim has been highly recommended by anyone I've sent her way. What I would love as a bride is her very personal approach. I'm not checking off a list of flowers ... Kimi's all designs are personalized and designed for YOU. Truly... I'm so glad we met. Her work is oustanding, and not just in floral design, but the whole place! You should have seen Esto House pre-Kim. OMG. Kim is the one who made it look like a wedding show as opposed to a hardware show. Thanks Kim! (PS.... there's a shot of her in a dress, and she looks stunning.....) |

| Here are the folks from the Marmalade Cake Company and HRM Photography! I first wrote to Helen because I'd heard wonderful things about her, and hey... at least I wouldn't forget her name!!!! Helen's cakes are VERY well known at this point. I'm so glad to have someone else at a show with the nametag Helen... then I can go and hide and they'll pester her ;) Seriously, Helen's work is art. Having eaten 6 of her cupcakes, ummmm, it tastes great too! I really wanted to win her prize of 100 cupcakes.
And... Heather. Heather from HRM is one incredibly dynamic person. She modeled for us, and her photography is so natural. She can definitely do non-trad stuff... or stay within the family limits and do those posed shots that every thinks of when they think of wedding photos (inner shudder). I personally love her candids, and think she captures love in a very unique way.... while flexible in style, I think Heather's talents are very unique. |

| Adam, the photographer, and his lovely wife Nina (also a gown designer) on the left, and Cindy looking stunning with her hubby from Camp Quality on the right. Cindy, your family is so sweet (Hi Meagan too!)... and you're a complete gem. Thank you for continuing to inspire me! To gush just a bit, Cindy has truly embodied everything that "charitable" means in terms of an organization. She offered a LOT of support in doing the show, rather than sitting there with her hand out waiting for a cheque. Frankly, the complete opposite. She brought in vendors, supporters, helped with sponsors and invited her friend Jane Pitfield as well! Going forward, given the support from Camp Quality and Cindy, we'll be focusing on offering our support here. Don't tell her, but she has a cheque of $5K from the event that I'm waiting to give her with a big bouquet of flowers from Kimberly Anne! for all her work, and our proceeds. Thanks everyone... they will put your money to work. I'll babble on, but along with Cindy, we designed and made blankets for the kids over Xmas with the Camp Quality logo, and y'know what... she does more too. She visits and provides much-needed support to elders as well. I was stunned. I thought I did double duty! Together we made some cheery warm blankets for them as well. Cindy really made Xmas real for me... because she showed me how to help folks other than the wee ones, and really made me feel like I was making a difference at the time of the year when it really counts for a lot of people. Cindy, you have my utmost admiration. | |

| The fabulous Zara and Rob from Diamond Essence on the left, and Sarah from St. Andrew's Club on the right. Zara (who I know better than Rob, but is also very sweet) is very dear. We see eye to eye on one very important thing. Should I ever get married (for the 3rd time... heeee heeee), I'd want a ring from them and no one else. I have a custom ring from them that I continue to brag about. It's gorgeous. And Zara, yes, it does cut glass (ooops). I can't wait for my new custom ring... it's tension set, and just finally a treat for me. Zara & Rob, don't be strangers. Your products are fantastic. I'll be your best customer yet! I LOVE my ring, and it won't stop sparkling, cutting glass (or throats...ack). Now that I have it, I would NEVER let a man pay for a mined diamond when my stone is so absolutely perfect. Literally. Sarah from St. Andrew's was so sweet and gracious. Gwen from St. A's popped in for a bit to say 'hi' and I'll see her on March 5th. Gwen I admire you much. Gwen is a breast cancer survivor like my sister-in-law, and has an incredible spirit. It was so nice to finally deliver those online hugs in person and meet. She's truly an inspiration to women, and all those with cancer of any kind. Gwen, I'm so glad we hooked up. You're truly incredible and such a beautiful person in all ways. | |
