With our thanks to all the salons, designers and brides who have donated dresses, and the lovely new brides-to-be who have found those treasures here, we have again exceeded our fundraising goal for the first quarter.
This year we added Gilda’s Club to our list of beneficiaries. You can learn more about Gilda’s Club on our Beneficiaries page.
Here is what they say about our contribution:
Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto is grateful for the support we have received from the The Brides’ Project. Thanks to their support we are able to open our doors to even more families touched by cancer – offering support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social activities. By supporting us, The Brides’ Project is on the leading edge in solving a critical gap in care for people living with cancer. Thank you Brides’ Project for supporting our commitment to provide the best practices of social and emotional support to all people living with cancer, along with their families and friends.
And, for the 6th year in a row, we continue to support Camp Quality to help children and their families. The Executive Director came buy to pick up a cheque for $15,000, which our fearless leader gladly handed over! This donation will allow 30 children affected by cancer to enjoy the camp experience this summer.

Once again The Brides’ Project will be featured at the National Bridal Show, and we’d love to see you there! Come to the shop and get your free pass — we have a limited number available on a first-come, first-serve basis. (They’re $13.50 online, $15.00 at the door.)
We’re also very excited to offer another green option for clients by teaming up with some talented ladies at Ryerson’s Fashion Design to showcase their redesigns of dated styles. You’ll be excited, too, once you see what they’ve done! Fresh takes will be shown at our booth, come by and check them out.
As a green-oriented, charity-driven bridal shop, we are the perfect partner to team up with the National Bridal Show. Here’s what they say about us:

On Wednesday last week I got ‘the call’… the call that an incredibly generous new donor had a shop full of goodies for us! Wahoo! Judy who just retired to run a lovely B&B in Paris (more details coming!), operated a bridal shop in Paris, ON called Bridal Fashions by Jacri for 40 years. Upon closing… she needed a home for her inventory. Thank goodness she found us!
Here’s just a sneak peak. Judy offered us EVERYTHING from tiaras, shoes, veils, cake toppers, crinolines, unity candles, mothers/bridesmaid dresses… you name it, it’s there. And about 50 absolutely stunning gowns. You can see more on the Shopping – Dresses page. We’re just getting started on getting pics up, so please be patient. I’m happy to report that many dresses are size 14 and up, where we really needed some help with our collection. This includes some destination type dresses.
Too much wedding planning and seeing red? Check this out!
This is a Sincerity gown in size 16, and the colour is actually burgundy. It’s STUNNING, and hot hot HOT! We’ve been asked about alternate coloured gowns (per Gail’s posting below), and yowza, this baby is an eye-catcher.
Hey Everyone!
Following on our success from the National Bridal Show in September, The Brides’ Project is extremely happy to announce our participation at the National Bridal Show held at the Direct Energy Centre (CNE grounds) in Toronto from January 22-24. We are being proudly sponsored at the spring show this year, and will be onsite taking donations and scheduling appointments for brides to try on gowns at the shop. We will have volunteers at the show to help spread the word about what we work to achieve at TBP, but the shop will also stay open as we continue to serve the brides who’ve made appointments for next weekend.
*Please note that TBP will not be selling any dresses at the show itself*
More info for the National Bridal show can be found at www.nationalbridalshow.com.
We also have passes at the shop if you are interested in coming by. The show runs from Friday Jan 22nd – Sunday Jan 24th at the Direct Energy Centre (at the CNE). Show hours are Friday 5-9, Saturday 10-9, and Sunday 10-6. As you can see by the show’s website, we are one of the top reasons to visit! Stop by and say hi!
The Brides’ Project is expanding!!! We have some very exciting news to share about our new affiliate in the United States!
Monique will be heading up our US office, located in Ann Arbor, MI. We certainly hope that The Brides’ Project, Ann Arbor will enjoy the same wonderful participation from YOU, the brides, that we have here in Canada. After all, this is the brides’ project… made possible by and for you. Welcome on board Monique!
You can read about The Brides’ Project Ann Arbor (affectionately known at TBPA2) here, and feel free to drop Monique a line about donating your dress or finding that perfect gown for your wedding. Click here to reach her and find out how to get involved!

Hey Fans and followers!
The Brides’ Project is extremely happy to announce our participation at the National Bridal Show being held in the International Centre in Mississauga from September 11-13, 2009. We are being proudly sponsored as key members of the Green Weddings feature at the show this year, and will be on site taking donations and scheduling appointments to help spreading the word about what we work to achieve at TBP! *Please note that TBP will not be selling any dresses at the show itself*
The Green Weddings feature at the show is a collection of eco-friendly exhibitors,… so very in keeping with what we are all about.

Hello Brides’ Project supporters!
Our March Sale was a resounding success and one good turn deserves another. For our June Sale we will discount selected dresses up to 50% off the tagged price. The sale officially starts with purchases made from today, June 3, and will continue to our last day of business in June, which is the 28th.
If you haven’t already made an appointment, please do it soon because the house was swamped in March and June will likely be the same way! We are open Sat 10-5, Sun 12-5, and Wed 3-8. If you use Twitter, we will be tweeting our availability from time to time: http://twitter.com/bridesproject
You can make an appointment by email [info@thebridesproject.com] or by phone [416-469-6777]. Appointments are only necessary to try on gowns; you can browse veils and accessories anytime during business hours.
Help us spread the word: you can save money AND help the community, all at the same time!
Our thanks to you,
The Brides’ Project Team
P.S. The Brides’ Project Relay For Life team is currently 63% towards our goal of raising $2,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Our team page: http://convio.cancer.ca/goto/thebridesproject

Just a little note to say the post about our fabulous March Sale is going to float at the top of the page periodically through the month until the end of the sale on the 29th (or until I make a new version of the announcement), and the rest of the posts will sit underneath.
So if you check back here and wonder why we’re not updating, we ARE! But new posts are below the sale… scroll down…
Happy shopping and don’t forget to make an appointment!
