Here’s a Swallowtail butterfly that Helen found on the car ferry as we were heading for Dauphin Island Alabama. The poor thing had a broken wing.
A bit of mindless fun on banks of the muddy Mississippi in New Orleans. The tourist districts are up and operating but there are sections on the city that are deserted. Houses, apartment buildings, stores and entire shopping malls boarded up or collapsing. Half as many people live in the Big Easy after the Katrina disaster.
Here are a couple of parrots from the Amazon exhibit at the Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans.
Hey! It’s Dorrie, Dad and Nemo!!!
Helen met a couple of guys outside the aquarium.
This photo was taken in 1993, the last time I was in New Orleans. I wonder how many times photos have been with these two.
This beautiful fountain is at the Charlotte North Carolina airport.
Here’s Helen just before we got on the plane back to Buffalo… it’s a long story. It’s hard to tell if she’s sad the vacation’s over or if she’s just bag tired. Most likely, it’s a bit of both.
