Diamond Essence

Alrighty... here's my honest opinion. I bought a replacement engagement ring from DE because mine had to be cut off just before the wedding since I'm a klutz and cut myself on my ring finger quite badly while opening a package of floral stuff. DUH.

Here's the company profile:

Diamond Essence - "The Smart Alternative to a mined diamond"
With a breakthrough revolutionary process, science now gives to a mineral the very Fire,Dazzle, and Brilliance seen only in nature's most precious diamonds. First mined, purified, then melted at temperatures above 5,000 degrees F.,the mineral slowly crystalizes to form a rough-cut stone. Each stone is then cut, polished and finished by hand to the same exacting standards found in mined diamonds. Finally, each Diamond Essence piece is set in 14k gold for designs that are masterworks of quality and craftsmanship. Diamond Essence masterpieces can be the affordable answer to your dreams, and theirs.Let your loved ones enjoy the look and rare beauty of flawless diamonds at a great price.

Now here's what people said to me.... (thanks Zara for sending me the picture of my ring!)

"Holy S*** that's gorgeous!"

"I love the design... it's simple, elegant... and tasteful." (I had a custom ring made... and it was incredibly reasonable.. just ask Zara or Rob about your own design)

"Helen, I'm sure my cousin's fiancé paid well over $10K for her ring, but it doesn't sparkle nearly as much. He might as well have bought a piece of glass... it's cloudy and dull. What did you say you paid?"

Uh-huh. I LOVE IT. It will last for the rest of my life without discolouring, and it's SOOOO sparkly! It's the 'perfect diamond'... no flaws, no colour issues. Come and see it. I'll even tell you what I paid once you're sitting down!

And they have so much more stuff too... great for gifts for bridesmaids, etc. Frankly, no one needs to know (or cares) that my diamond is lab-created. It cuts glass (and throats, if need be). Isn't that what counts?!!!!! Given that it's set in 14K gold... hey... it's beautiful, unlike the fake cubic zirconia thing I had which was gradually turning my finger green. And, frankly, it's a helluva lot nicer than the mined diamond ring that I was given. It caught on everything. Not good when working with tulle all the time!
